How to Create a Mock Test in the Test Repository

Creating a Mock Test on the WeXL platform is straightforward, allowing teachers to design comprehensive assessments that mimic real competitive exams. Follow these steps to create, publish, and schedule the test:


Steps to Create a Mock Test

1. Access the Test Repository

  • Log in to the WeXL platform.

  • Navigate to the Academics menu and select Test Repository.

2. Create a New Test

  • Click Create Test in the Test Repository.

  • On the instruction page, click Next to proceed.

3. Fill Test Details

  • Provide the following details:

    • Test Name

    • Board (e.g., CBSE, ICSE)

    • Grade

    • Total Number of Questions

    • Total Marks

  • Select Mock Test under the Category.

You will then be redirected to the instruction and section creation page.

4. Add Sections for the Mock Test

  • Click + New Section to create sections such as A, B, etc.

  • Define marks and other settings for each section.

  • Allocate questions in each section based on the test blueprint (e.g., Section A: MCQs, Section B: 2-mark questions, Section C: 3- or 5-mark questions).

Options for Sections:

  • Edit: Modify section names, number of questions, or other details.

  • Delete: Remove sections not required.

  • Add Chapter Questions: Instantly add questions from a specific chapter (e.g., auto-adding 20 questions to a section).

  • Add Questions: Manually add questions to the section.

5. Select the Subject and Chapter

  • On the question addition page, select:

    • Subject (multiple subjects allowed).

    • Chapter(s) and Subtopics.

    • Complexity Level and Question Type (e.g., MCQs, Subjective, NAT, Fill in the Blanks, etc.).

6. Add Questions

  • Use the three tabs to select questions:

    • WeXL Questions: Preloaded platform questions.

    • My School Questions: Questions added by the school management.

    • My Questions: Custom questions added by the teacher.

  • Click the + symbol next to the desired questions.

  • Repeat for all sections.

  • Once questions are added for each section, click Next.

7. Adjust Negative Marks (Optional)

  • Modify negative marking settings for specific questions on the next page if required.

8. Create the Test

  • Review the test details, sections, and questions.

  • Click Create to finalize the test.

9. Publish the Test

  • After creating the test, it needs to be published.

  • Click the three dots under the Action column and select Publish. Additional Options Before Publishing:

    • Edit: Modify the test details.

    • Delete: Remove the test from the repository.

10. Download the Question Paper

  • Once published, the test name becomes a hyperlink.

  • Click the hyperlink to download the question paper in Docx or PDF format, with or without the answer key.

11. Schedule the Test

  • Click the three dots under the Action column and select Schedule Now.

  • Provide the following details:

    • Section

    • Student Details

    • Start Date and End Date

    • Exam Duration

  • Scheduled tests will appear in the Scheduled Tests section and be accessible to students during the specified time.

12. Download and Upload the Answer Sheet

  • For Objective-Type Tests:

    • After scheduling the test, download the OMR template from the Scheduled Tests page.

  • For Subjective-Type Tests:

    • Use the Answer Sheet templates provided on the platform for subjective exams. The templates include fields such as student name and roll number.

    • Once the test is completed:

      • Collect, scan, and compile the students' answer sheets into a PDF file.

      • Upload the compiled file to the platform for evaluation.

  • Evaluation:

    • The system will evaluate the uploaded answer sheets using AI and generate reports.

    • Teachers can review the AI-generated marks, make any necessary adjustments, and finalize the results.
